Quintinha do Rio is a special self-sufficient property in an extraordinary private location, directly at the shore of the lake “Barragem do Cabril”, which ranks amongst the largest lakes of Portugal, with an extent of over 280 kilometres. Known throughout the country for its fish-abundance, the lake is also a very popular swimming-spot during Summer.
Due to its location in the midst of the well-known route “Grande Rota do Zêzere”, this property also offers interesting potential in terms of tourism. This route is a 370-kilometre-long cycling, hiking and canoeing route, which starts at the spring of the river Rio Zêzere in the mountains and goes all the way to its mouth in the river Tejo.
The large, fertile terraces can be used diversely, such as for agriculture, leisure, camping, livestock, etc. and are accessible by a tractor and 4×4 vehicle, which is a great advantage.
On the highest terrace there’s a water mine with lots of own water.

The spacious two-storey natural stone ruin lies in the higher part of the property and offers magnificent views over the lake.
It is registered as a residential building and can be rebuilt accordingly in the existing size. The walls are mostly intact and can be integrated when rebuilt.
The property is accessible through a dirt road of approx. 1 km. It is accessible with a normal car up until the property boarder, from where a 4×4 is recommended to drive to the house and lower terraces.
Approx. 15 minutes to the town of Oleiros with lots of amenities, another 15 minutes to the IC8 with connections to the surrounding towns and cities.
Approx. 2.5 hours to both Lisbon and Porto.
